Anna Jerstrom has studied yoga in
England, Nepal, India and the US. She initially practiced a variety of
styles, and realized that there were parts to each style that suited
her body and purpose.
She started studying under Susannah
Hoffman, a British Wheel of Yoga teacher, in 2001. Susannah´s teaching
method is inspired by the Viniyoga System with its one-to-one
approach. During the 2 years Anna studied with her she learnt
extensively about the art of yoga, both from the practical and
spiritual dimension.
Anna also spent several months at a
yoga ashram in Kathmandu, Nepal, where she studied Hatha yoga
full-time.
Relocating to New York in September
2003, Anna qualified as a yoga teacher focusing on Vinyasa and
Ashtanga yoga. Anna practised Mysore Ashtanga under the guidance of
Christopher Hildebrandt and she spent time in Mysore, India,
practising with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and Sharath Rangaswamy.
Currently based in Jaco, Costa Rica,
Anna is using her Viniyoga approach to compliment her own as well
as her students passion for surfing. She can often be seen on the
beach at sunrise saluting the first rays of the day.
